The Qin Dynasty

The Qin dynasty marked the beginning of the Chinese Empire and took place from 221-206 BC. During the reign of the “first emperor of China” Qin Shi Huangdi, China was greatly expanded to cover the Ye lands of Hunan and Guangdong.

Although short-lived, the period saw ambitious public works projects including the unification of state walls into a single Great Wall. It saw the development of a standardized form of currency, a uniform system of writing, and a legal code.

This playlist features every China History Podcast episode that takes place during this time period.
