  • I always enjoy your narration and style, but this series on tea has been my favorite by far. Perhaps because of fewer names to try to remember.

Anyway, you’ve mentioned before that these tribute teas are easy to find on Google, but I’m dating a Chinese girl, and she has been less than impressed by the quality of Chinese teas I’ve bought off American websites in the past. Do you know any sites in particular where I would be able to find a good variety of these teas and where I can be confident of the quality?

I’d also be interested in the same answer for tea wares. It would be nice to be able to find quality ‘real’ stuff in the US.

    • I’m going to publish a list of links soon that will have all of this info. Try if you would like to buy in confidence and also see decent tea ware. Start with them but I’ll have a whole bunch more.

  • Excellent stuff this series. To be honest I cannot recall how I found my way here but the past week I’ve skipped cycling to work because then I couldn’t listen to the History of Tea. This one on Song dynasty era has been my favorite so far, especially the part about tea battles was fascinating.

    • Thanks Jari. Sorry to get in between you and your cycling. I hope you like the other stuff too. A lot of listeners were attracted to the topic of tea and found the Chinese history quite interesting too.

  • Really outstanding podcast just enjoyed the 2 part “Two Gun Cohen” podcasts. I moved to North China recently and have now listened to almost the entire series mainly on planes and while I am working out. It has provided me with an insight to Chinese history that some Chinese in my office don’t have! I also like your book recommendations, where I can find them on Amazon I have read them and there have provided further detail.

My favourite ? Hard to choose really as much depends on what mood I am in but probably I would go for the 10 part series on tea which I have recommended to many others.

Thanks again Lazlo and look forward to listening to your new podcasts

P.s. I am a Brit and also a Beatle fan!

    • Thanks Stephen. I’m glad you like them and I hope you catch all my (sometimes) hidden Beatle references. I’m working on the next episode right now….another Brit! One of the many greats.

      Long Live the Special Relationship,
